£12m Funding Boost for Solent’s Community PrioritiesSolent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) today launched the £12m Solent Growing Places Fund.
The money will be used to fund the building work for infrastructure to enable the creation of much needed new 'section)jobs and homes in the region. (see 'News' section) :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Collaborate2Innovate conference - Nov 1st at Holday Inn Winchester -Thanks to everyone who attended this year’s Collaborate2Innovate 2011 event on Tuesday 1st November and made it such a great success. The Holiday Inn in Winchester saw hundreds of delegates, ranging from entrepreneurs and start-ups to international enterprises, come together with collaboration in mind.
Collaborate2Innovate, now in its third year, is organised by Solent Synergy and is dedicated to building collaborations between organisations in the Solent region and offers entrepreneurs, businesses and innovation specialists the opportunity to meet and network with like-minded people and create rewarding partnerships.
The event provided informative and very relevant sessions, plus excellent networking opportunities, free business clinics offering advice and opportunities on how to grow and manage businesses. There was also a 1-to-1 networking workshop where likeminded businesses could come together to discuss potential collaborations.
The event opened with a keynote speech from Graham Spittle, Chair of the Technology Strategy Board, and there then followed seven streams of activities, covering a vast array of topics that businesses may encounter in their lifespan. The Solent Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) also held its “Big Debate”, offering attendees the chance to put their questions and queries to the LEP panel to find out about the future of the Solent's Economy.
